McDermott's Coaches will collect you from 6.45am on one of three locations including Launceston Transit Centre, Colonial Motor Inn or Launceston Backpackers, so we can make the most of the day at Cradle. We aim to be there at 9am.

Firstly a guide at Cradle will take you on a 2 hour exploration of the park. Heading straight into Dove Lake you can walk, guided, around to the boat shed or glacier rock. Both are quite unique locations, one showing scratches in the rock from the last ice age around 10,000 years ago and the other showing some of the early settlers niche building styles of the area. Next you head up to Waldheim chalet, the first accommodation in the Cradle area and home in the early 1900s to Cradle Valley pioneer Gustav Weindorfer. We head to the local ranger interpretation centre so you can meander around and if time allows a look at the local Cradle Mountain Hotel art gallery. We stop and have lunch on the way exploring around the Park at one of the many unique locations. Lunch today is generally a fresh salad wrap with your choice of fillings and a cold or hot drink. Once lunch is out of the way our guides then get you ready for your canyoning adventure for the afternoon.

The Lost World Canyoning tour is all about getting up close and personal with a unique part of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area and gaining an introduction to the world of canyoning. After a 20-minute walk to the river, we put on wetsuits and the guides give you a safety talk. We then enter the Dove River and float and walk our way through this pristine wilderness.

There are jumps and other challenges, making for a super fun afternoon. All the challenges are optional on this tour. We give you all the gear you need and being able to swim is not essential.

At the end of the day, tired and weary from such an action packed day we head back to Launceston to arrive at around 7.30pm
