McDermott's Coaches collect you early from 6.45am at either of the the 3 locations at Launceston Transit Centre, Colonial Motor Inn or Launceston Backpackers, so we can make the most of the day at Cradle Mt. We aim to be there at 9am.

At Cradle, you will first be taken on a 3 hour hike around Dove Lake. Heading straight into Dove Lake car park you walk, guided, firstly to glacier rock, a place where the remnants of last ice age are seen through scratches in the face of the rock. The walk traverses the shore line of Dove lake with amazing views to Cradle Mt. Is passes through sclerophyll forests where the trees dance under hanging rock cliffs. We finish the walk at the boat shed which shows some of the early settlers niche building styles of the area. We stop and have lunch with a spectacular view of Cradle Mountain. Lunch today is generally a fresh salad wrap with your choice of fillings and a cold or hot drink. Once lunch is out of the way our guides then get you ready for your canyoning adventure for the afternoon.

The Lost World Canyoning tour is all about getting up close and personal with a unique part of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area and gaining an introduction to the world of canyoning. After a 20-minute walk to the river, we put on wetsuits and the guides give you a safety talk. We then enter the Dove River and float and walk our way through this pristine wilderness.

There are jumps and other challenges, making for a super fun afternoon. All the challenges are optional on this tour. We give you all the gear you need and being able to swim is not essential.

At the end of the day, tired and weary from such an action packed day you will head back to Launceston with McDermott's Coaches to arrive at around 7.30pm.
